ABOUT ME: I was born in Hyderabad on 3rd August. I am working as an Assistant Professor at Govt. Girls Degree College, Latifabad, Hyderabad. I started my career as a junior school teacher after my graduation in 1986. I did my Masters in Education in 1990 and looking forward to do my Master of Philosophy next year. In 1992 selected as a lecturer in public college. I had been the visiting professor in off campus program of University of Sindh. I am also a master trainer of English in CIDA. I have done several trainings including the ‘CBL’, in November 2012 from Netherlands.

SINDH: I live in Sindh which is one of the five provinces of Pakistan . My city Hyderabad is the second largest city of Sindh. It is also locally known as “Mehran”.The name of Sindh was derived from ‘River Indus’ which is one of the largest rivers in the world. Sindh's first known village settlements date as far back as 7000 BCE. Permanent settlements at Mehrgarh to the west expanded into Sindh. This culture blossomed over several millennia and gave rise to the Indus Valley Civilization around 3000 BCE. Sindh is also famous for ruins of ‘Mohen jo Daro’. This was one of the most developed urban civilizations of the ancient world.

FAMILY: I am married since last 19 years , having two adorable sons and one sweet daughter. My husband is very cooperative , I am here because of him.

PERSONAL INTEREST: I am a happy go lucky person , adjust everywhere. I like to make friends, tavelling , eating helping needy etc. I am the resource person of some organizations voluntarily. Like to spend leisure time on facebook.

FUTURE GOALS: I would like to be a renowned and competent educationist. I am also looking forward to complete my M.Phil. in 2014.

DESCRIPTION OF EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION: Govt . Girls Degree College ,Latifabad No. 8, Hyderabad , is one of the girls public colleges in Hyderabad . It was established in early 90’s. It has higher secondary and graduation levels in disciplines of science , arts and commerce. There are more than 3000 students enrolled and more than 70 qualified teaching staff members. Often we have co-curricular and sports activities .

NEEDS OF INSTITUTION: As far as my college deals with formal education and does not with teacher training. Its a public college so government is providing funds for most of the things. So I have come up with the idea that as most of the students of my college belong to very lower middle class and slum areas , it would be better if I reserve the amount of $ 500 to pay the fees of deserving and intelligent students.

MEMORABLE VISIT TO WASHINGTON DC:
Everybody was excited about Washington DC visit. On 24thJune, we left Mary Lyon at 6:30am for Boston. We flew at 11:00am and arrived at 12:30 am at Reagan National Airport. We left our luggage at Radisson Hotel and went to Crystal City for shopping. At 7:00 pm we started our moonlight trolley visit. Our driver Mr. Jamie took us to the outside visit of memorials, monuments, museum and state departments, included Martin Luther King Memorial, Washington Monument, Natural History Museum, Space Museum, Freer Gallery of Art, American History Museum, Cathedral, Abraham Lincoln Memorial, Thomas Jefferson Memorial besides Lost River, National World War 2 memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Holocaust Memorial Museum, Arlington Cemetery, Albert Einstein memorial and many more.
Next day all of us had meeting with Mr. Brent Breemer, Foreign Affairs Officer at State Department. Some of us gave reflection of institute and discussed future plans as alumni.
After that we had an exciting trip of underground metro with our security officer Jennifer Frank . She took us to Smithsonian and we visited Natural History Museum, American History and Cathedral Castle from inside.
For me the last day of our DC visit was most interesting and exciting when we visited Washington Capitol . Through which we came to know about United States history, judiciary system in short. There were lots of statues of leaders, heroes , 9/11 memorial etc. There we met the representative of New Hampshire senator, Mr. Kelly .
Then we started our journey back to Plymouth.

PELP REFLECTION

As an educator I feel the PELP experience will play a great role in my personal and professional development. I have come through many things which are new for me. I would like to be a humble and kind trainer as Christie Sweeney. I learn steps of professional training and pedagogical skill from her. I would like to have the experience of different places as Kathleen Norris. I would try to implement integrated learning whenever is possible taught by smiling Kim, which was new for me. I also appreciate her energy, which will motivate many Moms- to- be.
Orientation of Lamson Library and visit to Pease Library also put great impact on my learning, especially the arrangement for kids in Pease Library was new and interesting for me. Millie did a great job of introducing American culture to us. We learned about foods, family behaviors, and traditions of American people and shared Pakistani culture with her.
Presentation of wordless books by David Berona was interesting and everybody enjoyed and participated actively. Again, it was something new for me. Our visit to Mount Zion Christian School, in Manchester, was a memorable one. Deo Mwano was a great inspiration for everyone. There I learn how to work in a diverse community by the presentation of Jodi Harper. Bob Carter gave the presentation about school history and Steve Brown told about “Competency Based Learning”.
The Boston trip and visit to Max Warburg Foundation at Northeastern University left remarkable impact on my personality and as educator I am taking a great example for my students. We had a quick visit to Harvard University. It was a great moment of my life. I felt I achieved a great thing by visiting there.
