RELECTION ON COURAGE
1). what does courage mean to you? How would you define it?
Ans. Courage is quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, danger Pain, etc.without fear. Physical courage is courage in the face of physical pain, hardship, death, or threat of death, while moral courage is the ability to act rightly in the face of popular opposition, shame, scandal, or discouragement. Islamic beliefs also present courage and self-control as a key factor in facing the Devil, many believe this because of the courage (through peace and patience) the Prophets of the past displayed against people who despised them for their beliefs
2). we can agree that academic content is important, but why is social/emotional health also very important to a child's well-being and personal growth?
Ans. social/emotional health is also very important to a child's well-being and personal growth because what should we be teaching our young children so they’ll be “ready to learn and most parents believe we need to teach them to write their names, say the Alphabet, identify shapes and colors, and count to ten. These are important skills. However, there are other very critical skills a child needs to have in order to be “ready to learn.” These are called social-emotional skills. so they can succeed in school.
3). How can you use the idea of "celebration of courage" in your area of expertise? What forms of writing could you use?
Ans. We can use the idea of celebration of courage by telling success stories of students. We can use the forms of writing like story writing, autobiography, and pieces of writing in some magazine, essay writing, and also expressing oneself in the form of poetry and fictions which might be a cause of strong motivation for all others.
4). How can your students put courage into action?
Ans. The students can share their experiences of life and the hurdles and achievements with the other community members and companions. And in this way they will be like a torch light in the darkness. They will be a message of peace and prosperity for the whole mankind. Verbal and nonverbal communication skills are also important in this regard which the courageous students will utilize for spreading the message of courage in their surroundings.
5). How can they affect positive change in their community?
Ans. They can affect positive change in their community by sharing their experiences of life and the hurdles and achievements also with the other community members and companions. This will create motivation among passive and depressed people for their success. Courage is ability to stand up for what is right in difficult situations. As opposed to less sophisticated definitions that simply categorize courage as fearlessness or acting when an observer would be afraid. There are several forms of this courage which involve acting in spite of possible harm to one’s body. Moral courage involves acting in a way that enhances what one believes to be good in spite of social disapproval and possible backlash. Another aspect of courage is psychological courage which involves things such as overcoming one’s own addictive habits, irrational anxieties, and harmful dependent relationships. All these aspects are helpful for bringing positive change in society.
6). In what ways is our classroom a safe place for people to speak openly and without fear of ridicule or disapproval, even if what they say is "unpopular" or not a "mainstream" point of view
Ans. We can promote student centered learning and group discussions .we can also make a classroom safe place by making strong communication between teachers and parents to talk about students difficulties and issues. We should allow students to share their ideas anfd feeling with teachers in a feel free environment.

REFLECTION ON WASHINGTON DC
We had a visit to Washington DC on 24thjuly 2013. It was three days trip andwe were back to new Hampshire on 26thjuly 2013. Trip to Washington was surely one of the most exciting trips of my life, filled with sufficiently of pleasant surprises. When I went there, I realized that it was definitely very interesting both from educational point of view and from fun perspective.

First day
I went to trolley tour to monuments. Washington, DC is a city of monuments and memorials. And it is considered historically, politically and culturally an important place. Memorials and monuments which I visited are mentioned below.
we visited the following places by trolley tour on the first day.
1. White house
2. Jefferson memorial
3. Korean war veterans memorial
4. Lincoln memorial
5. DC war memorial
6. Franklin memorial
7. Arlington memorial

Second dayI went to state department where I had chance to discuss and share our reflection for our leadership project, its good approaches and some questions about it. I also had a chance to share many different aspects of culture, education and harmonies amongst in the education system of Pakistanis and .
I enjoyed a lot when we went to Smithsonian museum. The Smithsonian Institution—the world's largest museum and research complex—includes 19 museums and galleries and the National Zoological Park. Unfortunately, I only had limited time so I went to Freer Gallery of Art, Air and Space Museum and Natural History Museum. I took a lot of pictures of museums to show them to my peers, family and of course my students back home.
Third day I had a chance to go to Senate office. I discussed my US trip and the learning experiences. We discussed different educational and non-educational issues faced by Pakistan. After that we went to Agriculture department for having lunch but we could not do because of the lack of time. Right after that we left for the Boston and at about 7:30 and then left for New Hampshire and reached there at about 9:30 pm. So our beautiful journey ended.

PELP REFLECTION
We reached at Boston airport by a long travel of about 17 hours and after we were warmly welcomed by Black , Cait and Nichole. So I liked their attitude that they came to welcome and receive us .it was a great example of hospitality.
Then at the very first day we were told about medical resource, some common diseases and their remedies on our own. It was a good practice that I can implement at my institute because it is more economic. Then we were involved with at a session of information technology and we were given logging in information that was very very necessary and helpful for our whole sessions. So if we want to teach our students involving information technology we must give awareness about the proper use of technology in that particular field.
Another very important aspect that I learnt was that we were given a clear vision of what we have to do after going home.
Then we did shopping and it was also very informative. We can use this segment of training in our institutes when our students are having a visit to some new place.
Oh; then I had a very wonderful session with a very wonderful lady police Gen Frank. I learnt about the accidental conditions and learnt we should tell our students about precautionary measures about accidental conditions. I come to know how much the smartness is important in our lives and how can we maintain ourselves looking and smart enough.
I also visited the children library from there I got some ideas about early childhood education. Then I had a very informative session with Kathleen Norris and there I learnt best practices, tools and skills in mindful, transformative, curriculum, instruction and assessment to be implemented in education.
Then we explored different buildings of campus.
We also come to know about health and hygiene and the causes of obesity in USA which is very important knowledge about our health concerns and we were addressed by a nutrition manager working at Prospect Hall.
It was very beautiful information by Cecilia Gaffney about
Environmental issues, advocacy and ethics. We are facing a lot of problems regarding environmental pollution and it’s the need of hour to create awareness in the new generation to conserve our earth planet.
Then at Mount Zion Christian school at New Hampshire I as a teacher came to know about innovative practices in educational leadership exploration of Manchester’s diverse community action initiatives. And it was very important session regarding the students who are not able to continue their education for different reasons. They can get a golden chance get and improve their education.
Oh after that I had a wonderful ,l session with Christie Sweeney about advance instructional methodologies and I learnt how to engage your students in learning and don’t impose learning on them but actually engage them and make them ready to do that by their will.
Here I had a discussion with here and I came to know what the standards of education in USA are. It was really helpful for me to develop a vision of my own on standard based education in Pakistan.
We had a clear vision about cultural diversity in USA and the food habits of people belonging to different areas. I got a bright concept of an ethnographic approach to environmental issues.
I also learnt a great lesson about peace and universal brotherhood here. The people of US are very cooperative devoted, disciplined and hardworking. They also have quality of hospitality. So these are the good traits to be inculcated in human habits which I learnt and I will try my best to implement the good things I observed here.
The most important thing in Washington DC was memorials of different events especially of wars and American history. So it is a big source of inspiration for next coming generations. We should reserve our history for our next coming generations.
