MAX WARBURG Reflection

Through my own experiences in life I have been able to define the true meaning of courage but    Max WarBurg  achievement gave it another aspect that  courage comes from the strength of mind or will which Max showed while struggling and fighting against disease . The experience of   visiting  MaxWarBurg Institute at North Eastern University was very inspiring for me .Story of MaxBurg is based on courage .He faced the challenge of life but not left hope. By only and only  courage  he gave everlasting contribution for the country in form of student involvement in curriculum development .He set an example and  a way forward for all students by fighting against  disease with courage and even then gave new intervention in education system   .

Though Academic content is very important to learn for becoming professional and productive citizen  but other aspects of development like social and emotional are equally important for character building. God has gifted each human being with one or more skills and multiple inelegances. These potential and skills can be explored and polished by giving equal opportunities  on different stages of development ..

In addition celebration of courage is very important to acknowledge the contribution of work done and also motivating other peoples to do something special as Max did. The students in my country have lot of potential and ability .By writing essays, poems ,role plays ,participating in debates speeches ,or poster preparation or even just by promoting them to participate in class either through question answers or any king of presentation creates courage in them to move step ahead  I would like to make Pakistani students to participate in essay writing for Maxburg foundation which will be the new initiative in my country for involvement of student in curriculum development. Through this program children can become a change agent in my country. Their cognitive and writing skills can also be improved by participating in MaxWarBurg foundation essay writing initiative.

In future by communicating and participating in community welfare matters they can be helpful in finding the solution of issues like environmental ethics, pollution, health and hygiene for betterment of community.

I think student must be encourage from early stage of entering in education system  to speak or participate in class and teacher must encourage the student for developing confidence in them .Their work either assignment ,art work ,computer skill must be appreciated in class ,by giving them recognition titles on daily or weekly basis. By such types of  steps the students can get courage in every stage of life and will ultimately bring  positive impact in personality development

Washington D.C. Reflection

The trip to Washington Dc was the most tremendous experience ever been in my life. The city of Washing was very graceful and amazing. Here I found a collection of historical places, monuments, memorials and monuments. In the evening through trolley tour I saw, the Lincolin Memorial, congress ,Capitol Building, White House, Peace institute ,Botanic Gardens ,Korean war monuments World ,war II monument, Washington monument  Arlington Memorial     and Jefferson Memorial ,King Marten Loather Memorial  and Potomac River  .

Our delegation were honored by state department where very productive discussion was carried out .In the process different initiatives with commitments to education and a  from US Government to support developing countries were  introduced .Talking about Alumni Conference fascinated me more where implemented plan can be shared in different forms of presentation like  symposium, research paper can be helpful in disseminating the initiatives taken by PELP project .It was also shared by Pakistani delegates that  different reforms can be taken into account for upgrading quality education in prevailing  system of education on the basis of knowledge ,skills and learning experience we got through PELP Project .

In Smithsonian Institute we visited Natural History museum and American History Museum and castle. I studies and learnt the excellent way of preserving fosils of different animals and plants of different era of earth. Display of Big bang theory was displayed on LCD .We also saw time clock .In natural history museum we got an excellent opportunity to see all types of Gems and pearls. Golds of different   regions were also displayed. Mineral like calcite, gypsum were also seen .by visiting this museum I got an exposure of different discipline including history ,science ,chemistry ,physics  ,social studies and geography. Here the specialty of different regions was taken into account.

In American History Museum we learn about the development of Americans in different periods in the field of industry, IT, culture musical instrument .The way of Preserving and presenting history was very marvelous.

The most pleasurable and a wonderful surprise was the tour of Capitol Building. The building is   marvelous piece of architecture and history. We had a meeting with representative of Senator related to Health and Education. We presented the reflection of training and activities. We updated them Pakistani education systems and reforms done in teaching and training .We also shared our efforts to improve quality education .The participants also asked some question related to education and health and approached structured systems and procedures in all areas  In the evening I enjoyed shopping with my colleagues in Pentagon city .

PELP REFLECTION

The institute helped in understanding the practices in US for achieving quality standards. This program helped in understanding better knowledge of Culture, ethos, systems and life in the US to help reduce the gap in mutual understanding of each other’s cultural context. . The frequent exchange of ideas through development based on each other’s experience, expertise and keeping in view the local contexts have given further insight into the minds and thinking at individual and institutional levels. The mutual intellectual have lead to better understanding of the cultural and ideological context and professional growth of individuals to further advance the mutually beneficial goals for development of education in both countries in addition  to design new programs and initiative in the field of education through this training.

My current organization intends to enhance collaborative partnership with neighboring, developing and developed countries to capitalize on the strengths of the institutions in teacher education and this institute will be helpful in achieving this goal. It would strengthen institutional capacity and is likely to have medium-to-long term quality impact through implementing process.

There was heterogeneous group including teachers, teacher educators and administrator who participated in PELP Summer institute .The modules selected met the needs of each individual specially curriculum &  instruction pedagogical practices, environmental ethics, school initiatives for community support and involvement of parents and students in curriculum development .   All the areas covered will ultimately impact our efforts in enhancing classroom practices in schools.

By working on different areas the teacher education explored new dimensions and  and implementing by re tailoring in Pakistani culture and scenario will uplift quality education in Pakistan  .However the exposure of  US People ,culture ,education and institutions are prompted through PELP.

Participation in the institute also provided me an opportunity to understand the intricacies of management of education sector in the US and this can be utilized once back in Pakistan to meet the challenges faced by Pakistan in this regard. The challenges in capacity building of education sector in Pakistan in general and Punjab in particular involve establishing standards for teachers, education managers, educational institutions and other all essential components of education system .This coupled with an accountability system based on accreditation of teacher education programs for institutional strengthening and putting in place teacher licensing and certification regime have  set a benchmark to work towards achieving highest standards in terms of both quantity and quality targets set for the educational system in Punjab. This institute has developed my capacity to contribute in efforts for all above mention future goals.

Such information exchange and technical advisory may be continued through exchange visits, seminars and webinars (web-based seminars), special advisory groups on issues like improving standard based education, assessment techniques, curriculum development, professional development etc. Student and faculty exchange can also be a key instrument for this knowledge exchange as well.

However there need to develop more structured mechanism and strategies for the sustainability of the project initiatives either through Alumni or Project officials through involvement of administrative bodies, apex organization  and other private and public sector participants organizations as well  .Though this is the longest programs but impacts  are not so  observed in Pakistan  like working with other partners on different projects  .The dissemination and awareness of the  project initiatives need more attention.
